ORE VISCOSITY
MODIFICATION
VALUE OFFERINGS:
Range of viscosity modifier chemical technologies that alter the flow
properties of fluids. They reduce the viscosity of process slurries to
increase solids content in plant flows, increase production volume and
improve water utilisation.
DESCRIPTION:
Mineral processing often requires that solid materials be combined with a
carrier fluid such as water to create slurries. Although slurries have
advantages, they also pose operational challenges in that their rheological
properties dictates the flow-ability, spread-ability and pump-ability of the
slurry that can lead to negative throughput and production impacts.
VALUE OUTCOMES:
Improved ore throughput
Higher feed solids
Reduced energy at a given throughput
Improved mineral extraction and reduced process bottlenecks
Reduced equipment maintenance and extended equipment lifespan
Decreased capital expenditure
